The Pavilion Nominated for Pollstar Amphiteatre of the Decade Award
The Woodlands, TX - Pollstar Magazine recently announced that The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has been nominated as “Amphitheatre of the Decade.” This award celebrates the amphitheatre that showcased superior talent booking, effective promotion, quality production values and staff, an exemplary experience for fans and artists, and consistent box office success over the last 10 years. The winner will be announced at the 32nd Annual Pollstar Awards on June 16 in Los Angeles as part of the 2021 Pollstar Live! Conference.
According to Pollstar, with COVID-19 bringing a halt to traditional live events - resulting in a dearth of major tours, festivals, venue activity and touring-based artist development - the trade publication is dedicating the 32nd Annual Pollstar Awards to celebrating the most commercially and artistically successful artists, venues and events over the last decade, as determined by Pollstar's box office data and prior awards voting history.
“It's a privilege to have the work of the entire team at The Pavilion and its dedicated partners recognized among such an outstanding group of world-class entertainment venues,” said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “Over the last decade, The Pavilion has strived to provide outstanding entertainment and arts programming to The Woodlands and beyond and we look forward to continuing this legacy for many more years to come."
Pollstar Magazine focuses primarily on the concert industry and reports on news regarding sports and entertainment. The nominating committee is comprised of industry leaders in all facets of the entertainment business, including arena managers, artists, artist managers, agents and promoters from across the country and abroad.
