The Woodlands Symphony returns to The Woodlands Pavilion April 30 with their wildly imaginative themed concert: Great Scot! The orchestra performs music reminiscent of Scottish folk tunes with Felix Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony followed by film scores from movies celebrating the rich history of Scotland such as Braveheart, Outlander, How to Train your Dragon and Skyfall.
Continuing the WSO’s tradition of featuring guest conductors and soloists, the orchestra will be under the leadership of maestro Kirk Wilke for the program and trombonist Joel Brown will be featured performing the Blue Bells of Scotland. A grand finale is set to include the Woodlands Highlander Bagpipes lead by piper Craig Livingston.
